Give movement a feeling.

Separate how often you capture from how long each frame sees the world.

Motion blur · 180°

Near 180°: a familiar amount of motion blur. This is a starting guideline, not a requirement. Playback 25 FPS / capture 25 FPS = 1.00× speed. Trail is illustrative.

Animation illustrates speed and blur. It does not simulate discrete captured frames, rolling shutter or your display refresh rate.

A GUIDELINE, NOT A RULE

180° is a starting point. Your subject decides.

Shutter angle = exposure duration × capture FPS × 360°. Your current angle is 180°. Near 180°: a familiar amount of motion blur. This is a starting guideline, not a requirement. Capture rate affects temporal sampling, shutter duration affects blur within each frame, and playback rate controls speed.

What these settings change

01

Aperture • physical light

A lower f-number lets in more light at the same shutter duration. At 14mm, this lens can open to f/4.

02

Shutter • time collecting light

Each frame collects light for 1/50 second. A longer exposure collects more light and more movement.

03

ISO • output brightness

ISO 400 changes output brightness, not incoming light. With little captured light, noise can become easier to see.
